Our Residents

We accept as residents those persons who: 

 

  • are fully ambulatory
  • are non-ambulatory
  • gain assistance from canes or walkers
  • need assistance with transferring
  • are incontinent (blader)
  • are incontinent (bowel)
  • need assistance with bathing
  • need assistance with dressing/grooming
  • need assistance with eating
  • have mental illness
  • have dementia or Alzheimer's Disease - all stages (I - VII)
  • have other cognitive impairments
  • wander
  • may eventually require hospice care
  • have the following restricted health conditions (as conditioned by State regulations):

             administration of oxygen

             catheter care

             colostomy/ileostomy care

             contractures

             diabetes

             enemas, suppositories, and/or fect impaction removal

             injections

             intermittent positive pressure breathing machine use

             stage 1 and 2 pressure sores (dermal ulcers)

             wound care

  

 

We do not accept those who:

 

  • exhibit combative behavior

 

 

We are not allowed by the State of California to accept those who:

 

  • have active communicable tuberculosis
  • have stage 3 and 4 pressure sores (dermal ulcers)
  • require gastrostomy care
  • have naso-gastric tubes
  • have staph infection or other serious infection
  • have tracheotomies

 

An objective in accepting residents is to promote a compatibility between those who reside at Golden Gardens.  Much like in a marriage or on an athletic team, we celebrate the social chemistry between the residents at Golden Gardens.
